While it remains unclear if this will take the form of a television series akin to the Knuckles show on Paramount+ or a feature film, the news marks a significant potential expansion of the franchise.

Shadow first appeared in the 2024 release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, where Keanu Reeves lent his voice to the character. The movie’s climax depicted Shadow attempting to sacrifice himself alongside Dr. Ivo Robotnik to save Earth from a destructive cannon; however, the final scenes reveal that Shadow survived the ordeal.
